We did this as a corporate prayer yesterday at Genesis in our worship service, and I said I would post it on the blog. This is a prayer for the lost by David Jeremiah.
Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. (Romans 10:1, ESV)
Our Father,
Our heart’s desire and prayer is for the salvation of our loved ones, our sons and daughters, our brothers and sisters, our mothers and fathers, our friends and neighbors, the known and the nameless, those both near us and far from our shores.
They are dead in trespasses and sins, walking according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, without hope, hell-bound, facing eternity without Him who died for them.
Bring them to Yourself, Lord!
Convict them of sin, and unrighteousness, and of judgment and grant them saving faith.
Grant them sight. Give them light.
Give them the right to become children of God, born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
We also ask for boldness to share the Gospel with those who cross our paths.
Open doors for our testimonies.
We pray this in the Name of Him who came to seek and to save the lost.
Amen.
