First of all, if you have not heard yet, Genesis Church is receiving a special honor this year from the Eureka Days Committee and our city. Genesis Church has been nominated as the Citizen of the Year for Eureka Days this year. This is so awesome for us as a church! From our first days we have desired to live as Kingdom of God people in this city, which means we love and serve our city. We want Eureka to be a better place because we are here. It is an incredible blessing to have the city recognize our efforts.
As part of our effort to show our appreciation we are dedicating our Sunday, September 11 service as our Community Appreciation Day. During the service we are planning some things that will help us show our thanks to the city and those who serve here. We are also having a cake reception after the service that morning. We would like to invite you to join us on that day. Click the link below to view an e-vite for this event. Feel free to share this with others as well via social media or email.

There are also some special things planned on Saturday as part of this honor. We will have the Citizen of the Year recognition during the parade, which includes a convertible with some of our people in it preceding our normal float (we will clean up the parade route like we do every year). Then on Saturday night around 8 pm at Eureka Days there will be a presentation to our church that will include some pretty cool things for our church. We want to encourage everyone to attend that if they can. We have also been given permission to set up a table to hand out popsicles after the presentation on Saturday as a way to say “Thank you” to our city. It’s going to be an awesome weekend, for us as a church. We hope you can be a part of it.
