10 Days of Prayer to Celebrate 10 Years of Ministry – Day 5

Thursday, April 14 – Core Value of Prayer

As we celebrate our 10th year as a church, we would like to ask you to join us praying for the next ten years. We have prepared a 10 day prayer experience that will involve all of us in praying over our core values and vision as a church.   Today we would like you to pray over our Core Value of Prayer.

*Prayer – A place that believes prayer taps into the heart of a great God.
*Scriptures – Acts 4:23-37

When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them. And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit,
“‘Why did the Gentiles rage,
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers were gathered together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed’—
for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
(Acts 4:23-31 ESV)

▸ Praise God for giving us access into His very throne room in our prayers. Rejoice and give thanks for the multitude of answered prayers God has given us in the past 10 years, including providing for us financially, lives changed by the Gospel, people who have been healed, and families who have been restored.
▸ Ask God to make us a praying church, and that we would grow in our dependance on Him for the next 10 years.
▸ Pray for our Deacons and other key leaders who oversee ministries and vital areas for Genesis.
▸ Spend time lifting up the ways we seek to pray as a church, including our Quarterly Prayer Breakfasts, Friday morning prayer time at Breadco, Community Groups praying together, and our prayer emphasis in May.
