Steve Saint – Injured but still passionate

Many of you may be familiar with the story of Steve Saint, which was featured in the movie The End of the Spear. Steve’s father Nate was one of five missionaries martyred on the banks of an Amazon tributary by the Auca Indian people they were seeking to reach with the Gospel.  The amazing part of the story is that after these five men’s deaths, several of their wives brought families back to Ecuador seeking to continue the work begun by these men.  These women and their children eventually lived among these people and led them to faith in Jesus.  It is one of the great stories of God’s redemptive power displayed through suffering, evil, brokenness, and death. Steve Saint was one of these children,  being raised by the men who had killed his father.

Since his childhood Steve has lived a missional life.  His father was a missionary pilot, and Steve followed in his footsteps.  For years he has been involved in inventing, testing, and using flight technologies specifically to be used by missionaries when seeking to reach people with the Good News of Jesus and meet their needs.  While testing a new piece of equipment last week Steve was horribly injured leaving him paralyzed from the neck down.  This video is his story, and a challenge to live and believe the Gospel even in the midst of suffering.
